No: There can be a number of factors that come together in the development of depression. With endogenous depression there may be no inciting situation or trauma. If you believe you may be depressed, encourage you to see your physician for a medical evaluation. Treatment with a therapist is likely to be very helpful and sometimes medications are indicated.
