C. diff colitis: This colon infection comes from a spore, that can hang around in your colon. Usually its easily treated with oral antibiotic flagyl. Once on treatment the diarrhea should slowly resolve. However recurrent c. Diff does occur. If diarrhea returns or persists, then you need additional stool samples and longer time on antibiotic, up to 8 weeks. Stay in touch with your doc, report your symptoms.
