Doctor can evaluate: "loose stools" means different things to different people. "frequent" also has many meanings (some call once a week frequent; others once a day). So, a primary care doctor or a GI specialist will have to get the entire story and run some tests. If there is celiac disease, some soretof hormonal problem, a malabsorption of certain nutrients, etc... Then some long term problems might appear.
