A member asked:

Just had a mole biopsy taken from my arm. if it does concern drs, what would be the next steps to testing me for skin cancer?

Depends on pathology: If biopsy is positive, it's a cancer. If equivocal, repeat biopsy may be necessary.

Dr. Gary Lane answered

Talk to your doctor: Your doctor who did the biopsy will send the tissue to a pathologist who will confirm if you have skin cancer. No further diagnostic tests are needed until your biopsy results are finalized.
