A member asked:

Is there a consistent pain or soreness following a cystoscopy or does the pain/soreness that follows occur mainly upon urination? 33 y.o. male

Not usually: A cystoscopy, where a scope is placed in the uretha to look inside the bladder, is generally followed by a brief period of discomfort when voiding. If pain persists beyond 24 to 48 hours, i recommend contacting the treating urologist and/or your pcp and go have your urine checked for persistant infection or bleeding or other problems.
