I'm taking flagyl and ate cookies with maltitol will this have the same effect as alcohol?

No: You should be fine , the side effect of abdominal distress, nausea/vomiting, flushing or headache is associated with intake of alcoholic beverages while on flagyl. Depending on how many cookies you ate, the maltitol content may cause diarrhea. Increase water intake to prevent dehydration and reduce side effect of flagyl. Be sure to finish this antibiotic course. Take care.
