Clarification: Stitches, when they are used with cataract surgery, are place out of the way of vision so they would not be interfering with your vision. Sometimes they can be tight which can cause astigmatism and if so they are easily removed.

After cataract: Sutures/stitches are sometimes need to secure the cataract incision site. They can be removed once the incision is healed to avoid infection and dangerous pressure changes. Talk to your eyeMD to see if stitches can be removed.
