Can happen: A bad taste can be from an infection around a tooth or gums. Not always much pain. You need to see a dentist to get an infection treated. Don't wait. It can get worse. It is unlikely t hat there will be an infection in all of your wisdom teeth, and a fully impacted wisdom tooth may have other problems but infection is not one of them. See your dentist.

Sure: Infection presents itself in a variety of ways, but every characteristic need not be present. Pain, swelling, discharge, redness, warmth over region, fever chills, nausea, and vomiting are some signs of infection. I have removed countless impacted wisdom teeth, which were "buried", but yet had decay on the tooth. Bad taste could be discharge from an abscessed wisdom tooth. Best to get checked.
