Be observant: Twitches of muscle occur with magnesium deficiency. Magnesium can be lost with exposure to loud sounds and also with use of stimulants like coffee. Chronic stress coming from back pain could also increase magnesium losses. Topical magnesium oil can be applied on the skin in painful areas to see if magnesium deficiency in the underlying muscle is causing the tightness or pain.
