Pleurisy or other dx: Pain with breathing is called 'pleuritic pain'. Pleurisy or pneumonia can cause inflammation of the 'lung lining' so it is important to distinguish these 2 causes. Pneumonia usually has other symptoms: cough/fever/fatigue/short of breath. A chest xray can help make the diagnosis. The treatment for pleurisy is 'anti-inflammatories' (nsaids) such as aleve (naproxen). Hope you are better soon!
