GERD?: Some things that come to mind include gerd (gastroesophageal reflux disease), which can cause both pain on an empty stomach and chest pain after eating. Gall bladder problems can also cause right-sided abdominal and chest pain, especially after eating fatty meals. Heart problems do not usually cause "sharp" pain, but it still needs to be ruled out by your doctor.

Esophagitis: You may have had the ongoing esophageal reflux and overtime without proper treatment it may develop into esophagitis or ulcer or worse -- please see a GI doctor asap for a good upper GI evaluation and treatment.
