NSAIDS: You can use aspiring, tylenol, (acetaminophen) Ibuprofen or aleve, whichever works the best in reducing the pain. You can also rinse with warm salt water and that helps reduce some discomfort as well.

OTC meds: The best is to see a dentist as soon as possible. But until then you can get anbesol gel and apply with a q-tip to the sore area. Also try rinsing frequently with warm salt water. Ibuprofen is the best pain med. Prescription meds from your dentist will work faster and better though.

Home Care: There are several options to help you at home to alleviate relief from wisdom teeth. Sometimes warm salt water rinses can help some along with otc nsaids such as ibuprofen. To get permanent relief, you will probably need to get your wisdom teeth removed.
