Only you know: Sometimes self-harming becomes such a way of life that a person is fearful of changing behavior. Getting help opens the door to such changes. Shame may also be a part of this, but everyone has unique responses. Still, i know that the right therapist will listen to your feelings and work with you on all these issues. Over time, you can learn healthier ways of dealing with pain. Take care.
