Closed Lock: It depends on what's causing the jaw to get stuck, but it's most often due to a displaced disk in the jaw joint, or tmj. I recommend first of all a soft diet, moist heat, nsaid's and muscle relaxants, for which you'll need to see a doctor. Sometimes splint therapy is recommended. However, if the jaw doesn't "unlock" after a few months, studies show that TMJ arthroscopy shows the best results.
