Few things: This could be caused by nerve irritation stemming from your upper cervical (neck) spine. It could also be related to your mastoid bone. If you have had any recent infections, such as an ear infection, that infection can migrate to your mastoid bone and cause complications. You also have some muscle attachments just at the base of your skull that could lead to pain in the area. Hope that helps!
