Topical Steroids: Avoid long hot showers and harsh and drying cleansers. Apply fragrance-free moisturizer like Vanicream. Use at least twice a day. For eczema flares, apply prescription strength corticosteroid ointments to problem areas twice a day until clear. Better to treat eczema then cover up as many cover-ups will actually worsen eczema.
