Have her see doctor: Just make sure w/a doctor's exam. Make sure you go w/her & tell the doc your concerns. Otherwise, she may go in to the exam & tell the doc everything is ok. If nothing is wrong, you might try giving her some of her favorite foods.

Loss of appetite: If for sure there is no gastrointestinal problem like you mentioned, depression may be another one to look for. The elderly do get depressed quite often and just as often it goes unrecognized. Lack of appetite may be ok as long as no weight loss or other symptoms such as fatigue, etc.
