Mesh: Many patients develop foreign body reaction to mesh years after implant. The question is to remove the implant and that should be done between you and your surgeon. From a pain standpoint our practice has had success with Botox in getting rid of the pain and stabilizing the sling when injected correctly. If injected incorrectly it will loosen the sling and further surgery may be required.

Usually not: I do tvt surgery and in my experience most patients don't have chronic inflammation. But some people do. I recommend you see a doctor with a lot of experience to examine you and make recommendations. Good luck with this.

No: Most pt who have a sling do not have problems. Some women will have pain, painful intercourse, difficulty urinating or other problems. Sometimes it is necessary to remove the sling. The only way to know for sure is to see a specialist with a lot of experience treating mesh related complications.
