Possibly: Pain, swelling are common symptoms of dvt, and the best way to evaluate this is with a duplex ultrasound study of the involved leg. Sometimes, there is only minor, muscle pull sensation, and no swelling, and for the most part, physical examination is in error 50% of the time.

Yes DVT is a reason: Definitely a DVT can cause primarily calf pain, usually with swelling. It is always important to rule out the most dangerous possibility first and a DVT can progress to be life or limb threatening. I would advise a visit to your physician as soon as possible. If you feel it is persisting or increasing i would recommend being seen in an urgent care center today.
