A member asked:

Does symptoms of hairy leukoplakia show up in just about 4 days of being infected with hiv?

Probably not: Hairy leukoplakia is more consistently related to, or caused by, the use of an oral antibiotic. It can be treated by the use of topical application of 35% hydrogen peroxide or podophyllin. See a dentist or other professional who is familiar with this problem.

Not usually : Normally it takes awhile for these symptoms of HIV to develop. Best answer is to be tested or if definite exposure to discuss with your doctor the advantages and disadvantages of starting some or all of the "hiv cocktail".
