Good question: High morning glucose may be a "dawn phenomenon" or "somogyi effect." they are both rebound hyperglycemia in response to low glucose levels at night. The first is from natural insulin, the second man-made. Depending on the morning level, your doc may ask you to check you glucose at 2-3 am for a few nights. Treatment depends on the cause. Good luck and check with your physician for help.
