Impaired fasting glu: A fasting glucose above 5.6 mmol (100mg/dl) is considered abnormal. A level above 7 (125 mg/dl) is consistent with diabetes. You do not need to have a high 2 hr pp number to have impaired glucose tolerance. A 2 hr pp above 11.1 mmol (200 mg/dl) is also consistent with diabetes. However, these should be confirmed by a lab test, not fingerstick reading.
