Heart is bigger: Means that one or more of the heart chambers are dilated (enlarged). Usually from volume overload secondary to a shunt (communication or hole between chambers or arteries), or due to abnormality in the heart muscle (dilated cardiomyopathy). Also long standing anemia, or tachycardia (fast heart rate) can lead to cardiac enlargement. Hope this helps.

Enlargement: There are normal measurements for chamber sizes and wall thicknesses of the heart. Enlargement means that either or both are increased out of the normal range.
