A member asked:

I just had an ultrasound that detected a 6 cm ovarian cyst with nodule, will this need to be removed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes.: The fact that the cyst contains a solid nodule makes it more likely to be a tumor (either benign, or hopefully not-malignant), and make it important to have surgery to remove it. There are some lab tests that your doctor can order that can help to stratify it as higher or lower risk to be a cancer, but it should be removed.
