A member asked:

What are the factors positively influencing a successful implant of the embryo in an icsi ivf procedure?

Many: Many factors can influence the success rate of an ivf/icsi cycle. One of the most important one is the quality of the embryos on day 5 (blast). Good quality embryos with a good endometrial lining and a smooth embryo transfer are all very important factors that can positively influence implantation.

Several: Age of female most important, ovarian reserve tests (fsh, amh, afc), stimulation factors, excess embryos for freezing, number and quality of embryos, day of transfer, chromosome screening, technique of transfer, and ejaculated vs testicular sperm. Also, icsi overused, so avoid it if possible - about 2-4% higher delivery without icsi. Icsi is just the technique to inseminate the egg. Best wishes.
