Call OB: It is best to consult with your OB before taking any medication during pregnancy. There have not been any studies that have shown any harm to you or the fetus, but with any drug the benefits and the risks are always weighed. If your dentist did not call your OB then call and ask about this drug. Every pregnancy is different and your doctor knows you best.

Clindamycin: Is a pregnancy category b medication, so it should be safe to take without worry - animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus & there are no adequate & well-controlled studies in pregnant women or animal studies have shown an adverse effect, but adequate & well-controlled studies in pregnant women have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus in any trimester.
