It is a class B: Pregnancy risk drug. Which means there is no evidence of risk to the fetus.This is the class most antibiotics which are considered safe during pregnancy fall into because there just aren't the controlled studies done necessary to reach "class A" status. Often is safer for the fetus to treat a concerning infection with a medication rather than not treat at all. Consider reviewing this with your OB

Infection: Please review with both your OBGyn and your Dentist. Antibiotics will not cure any virus or fungal oral infections. Will usually only prevent spread of bacterial infections, not cure. To cure an infected tooth or infected gums requires hands-on dental treatment, not just pills.
