Probably: You should let pain and discomfort be your guide to activity level. Listen to your body and use common sense. Some exercising may actually make your postop recovery easier. Good luck!

Depends. : Depends on how likely it is for your intestine to be squeezed or get trapped. Some hernias are low risk and exercising is fine. Others have a high risk of 'strangulation' and exercise should be avoided. Best to ask your surgeon which type you have. If you have a lot of pain nausea or bloating with activity -- you probably should hold off.
