What is the after care of a torus palatinus removal ?

Gentle care: Recovery from palatal torus excision is slow due to thick dense underlying bone in the roof of your mouth and limited blood vessels supplying the area. The surgeon may place an acrylic stent as a bandage over the surgery site for the first 2 weeks.Soft diet for the first few days aid healing. Antiseptic oral rinses and/or salty water rinses during the first week are helpful. Time is most important.

Be gentle: Soft diet, otc analgesics, if they are not sufficient, ask your surgeon for an rx. Salt water rinses.
