Hyperthyroid: It's always ok to get a second opinion. Thyroid disease can significantly affect your pregnancy: ability to carry through pregnancy and fetal development. You first need to find out the cause of the hyperthyroidism so you can treat it. Some hyperthyroidism treatment (radioactive iodine treatment) cannot be done in pregnancy or someone who is trying to get pregnant.
