Vertebral v Rib prob: The majority of such pain problems of this type are due to hyperflexed thoracic vertebra and/or locked rib. Either one causes abnormal muscle function and can refer pain to arms & head. I see it daily in my practice. Osteopathic manipulation can provide immediate relieve in many cases. Proper exam to rule out all causes, including above, and manipulation, can be done by good osteopathic dr.
