Asthma exacerbation: Asthma flare ups can be triggered by many things. If symptoms occurred soon after eating nuts then nut allergy is a possibility. See your doctor or perhaps and allergist for evaluation as to what triggers your asthma.

Is asthma worse?: The statement is not clear. If you have an attack of wheezing after eating nuts especially if the symptoms are recurrent it could be induced by allergy to tree nuts.

Allergy: What reaction you had?. It could be the nuts or a reaction to medication.

The fact that you ..: The fact you posted indicates the issue was not severe. Of course, taking Prednisone could moderate your rxn. At 41, developing a nut issue would be quite rare. Don't eat nuts and get checked. Since you didn't say what happened, this is safest!
