Hyperhydrosis: This is a very frustrating problem, with psycho-social issues that lead to other problems like isolation, poor self esteem, etc. If the sweating occurs in the usual areas, use of drysol is usually adequate. If you have cranio-facial hyperhidrosis, drysol isn't feasible. Some recent studies with oxybutinin 2.5mg three times daily have been effective. Watch for overheating if you use this drug.

Hyperhydrosis: Your bf's condition is called hyperhydrosis. Unfortunately, it is genetic and very little can be done to effectively control it. Using deodorants that protect commonly affected areas such as underarms can be used. Certain medications such as benadryl, (diphenhydramine) amitriptylin or scopolamine are known to decrease sweat production, but i would not experiment with any of those until he seeks face to face advice.
