Get evaluated: It would be best evaluated by physical exam. Have a doctor or mid level provider examine you. That being said, it could be flu or pneumonia, just to mention a few causes of fever.

Flu?: It is flu season and it is possible he has the flu. He may have fever for 5 days, runny nose, cough, sweats, bodyaches. If fever persists for a week or more, then need to consider other possibilities. For now rest, fluids and wait for him to improve. Well, he's sick.: A fever will often fluctuate throughout the day and night, and the temperature changes can be rather rapid. A fever is often accompanied by intermittent chills and sweats, and the sweats can be drenching at times and the chills uncontrollable. Sounds like he needs an evaluation by a local doctor to help locate the site of the infection.
