Specializes in Retinal Surgery

Swelling behind eye: Usually refers to retinal edema and can be associated with diabetes (most often), but also many other systemic diseases like high blood pressure. The retinal specialist can often improve the prognosis of patients with retinal edema with newly available treatments which could include medications and laser. Without treatment, vision can be damaged irreversibly. Please see one of us!
