Antibiotics or boric: Metronidazole pills, or Metronidazole gel (for vaginal treatment) are first line treatments. Clindamycin is another effective antibiotic that comes in oral or vaginal preparations. Boric acid is a very effective treatment (vaginal use only). Sometimes taking a probiotic, or acidophilus can keep the vaginal ph in a range to prevent recurrences of yeast or BV infections.
