How to ease random bouts of anxiety?

7 doctors weighed in across 3 answers

Meditation/exercise: Trained aerobic exercisers recover more quickly from random anxiety, as do meditators (see "relaxation response"). These actions work both to prevent random bouts of anxiety and to alleviate them quickly when they occur. In addition, revising any identifiable anxiogenic thoughts provides relief. Avoid thinking in catastrophic ways. Manage smaller pieces of complicated challenges. Be courageous!
