Please talk w your: Doctor or your therapist about your depressive symptoms & your suicidal thoughts. If you have suicidal thoughts with a plan of how to kill yourself that you feel the need to act on - that would be a reason for admission. If you are fearful that you will lose control & act on suicidal thoughts - get help now. If you believe that you may kill yourself please get help at the nearest emergency room. >.

Please get help: It is a sign of maturity and good sense that you are raising this question. Often is hard to tell on your own if you require hospitalization. Certainly, when in doubt a professional mental health evaluation is in order. You can always go to a hospital or call 911 if there is immediate concern about suicidal thoughts or behavior. Treatment does work for these conditions and you should get help.
