A member asked:

What is an obgyn prescribe antibiotics for?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

STDs: Most commonly a gynecologist is going to write antibiotic prescriptions for stds, utis, kidney infections, vaginitis and pelvic inflammatory disease. Sometimes an ob/gyn might prescribe antibiotics for a uterine infection, or skin infection involving the area around the pelvis. Some doctors will also write for common infections like strep throat or sinus as well.
