A member asked:

How can you talk to my doctor about taking anti depressant pills?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Straighforward: I would raise the subject of feeling depressed and explain your circumstances, how you feel and react to things. Many primary care doctors will feel comfortable prescribing an antidepressant if appropriate. If those don't help, or the situation suggests a further need, the doctor might suggest seeing a psychiatrist or counselor as well.
