Neurotransmitters: An antidepressant seems to stabilize brain chemicals and works on mood and behavior, especially seratonin, maybe norepinephrine in some newer drugs. Depression results in slowing of both psychological and cognitive functions, and may result in issues with both focus and distractions, and even may compromise organizational skills and memory. But the chemical rebalancing helps all of this.
