A member asked:

What is there in an anti depressant that help you focus and think clearer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neurotransmitters: An antidepressant seems to stabilize brain chemicals and works on mood and behavior, especially seratonin, maybe norepinephrine in some newer drugs. Depression results in slowing of both psychological and cognitive functions, and may result in issues with both focus and distractions, and even may compromise organizational skills and memory. But the chemical rebalancing helps all of this.
