Doctor's decision: Immobilization for treatment is based on the type of injury sustained and the doctor's decision. If yours is one that can heal with weightbearing, you may be placed in a walking boot/cam walker; however, if it is an injury that will require more stringent immobilization a cast may be employed.

Depends: If it is not displaced, then a cast or a cam boot will do for 4-6 weeks. If it is displaced, then surgery. Since it is broken in two places, there is more of a likelihood that it will need surgery and nonweightbearing.
