Doctor's decision: Immobilization for treatment is based on the type of injury sustained and the doctor's decision. If yours is one that can heal with weightbearing, you may be placed in a walking boot/cam walker; however, if it is an injury that will require more stringent immobilization a cast may be employed.

Possibly: If it is a minor nondisplaced fracture, then a cam boot will work. However, if it is displaced, it may need surgery to realign the bones.
