Rest and ice: Try resting your ankle using ice and anti- inflammatory medicines if you don't have a problem that prevents you from taking them. If you don't start improving after a couple weeks or get worse see a doctor.

Ice and compression: Ice and compression to the area with a wrap. Elevating the area will help relieve pressure. Also, massaging the area gently while taking over the counter anti inflammatory meds.
