Spasm: Your scalp and the back of your head is covered by skeletal muscle. Spasms like this is your body's way of telling you something is irritating these muscles. The nerves that come out of the neck pierce through these muscles and can get irritated through this path and thereby lead to spasms. It could be arterial, tension, etc.
