Not normal: But it doesn't necessarily mean that it's life-threatening. It likely is from a muscle spasm of the temporalis muscle, the big muscle at either side of the head. This can be related to stress or bruxism(grinding your teeth) or temporomandibular joint issues(the joint of your jaw). You should first try some relaxation techniques like meditation to see if it resolves but if it doesn't see your doc
