Surgery?: I would try medicine first. Allergies can congest the nose. If you have less room on that one side, it may plug up while the other side stays ok. You could have a deviated septum (wall between the 2 sides of the nose). There are shelves of bone called turbinates that can be large or swollen. The turbinates and septum can be fixed, but i like to try medicines first.
