Good Question: However there is probably no good answer. Genetics probably helps a lot. Some people are good athletes and other are not. Also, think like professional athletes to get the extra medical/chiropractic/massage therapies/athletic training etc. You should consider having this a part of your life as well. Exercising can tax your body and you need to have way to relieve pressure of prevent injuries.

It is usually: because of a number of factors. These include poor balance from de-conditioning, poor muscle strength, poor decisions regarding activities for which they are not prepared, risky behavior without proper preparation, and then simply not paying attention to what you are doing. I don't believe it is bad luck but rather one or more of these factors at play.
