How should you explain that people can still be top athletes if they have asthma?

Asthma control: While asthma cannot be cured, asthma can be controlled. With controlled asthma, the lung function can be normal and the person (even an elite athlete) can fully and successfully participate in high intensity sports. A successful asthma regimen may require an asthma specialist such as an allergist or pulmonologist to develop an individualized plan.
