Divergent thinking: One of the cognitive "benefits" of adhd is that one is less likely to get "stuck" in a cognitive rut. Switching attention from one thing to another can help stimulate associations and "thinking outside the box"--noticing connections that others don't see. When coupled with habits and/or support systems that help ensure that the ideas are captured and developed, it can be an impressive package!
